Xenia Taler Tiles
From their Ontario studio, partners Xenia Taler and Steven Koblinsky design and make each of these stunning tiles by hand.
The tiles are pressed into wooden dies in order to achieve a roughened and rustic apparent. Each tile is entirely hand painted without the use of stencils or screens. Their conscious aim: to create an object that is meaningful simply because of its appeal and beauty. Because all the tiles are handmade there are variations in shade, color and hand painting are inherent. All tiles come with cork on the bottom and a slot in the back for hanging. This allows the tiles to work equally as trivets, coasters or wall plaques.
